Kurt was born on November 14, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to Billy Ray Cook and Virginia Ann Winkelman.
Kurt started into mechanics at a very young age. He started mowing yards around the age of 10. His mom bought a brand new lawnmower and when she came home from work one day Kurt had the motor in pieces. Boy was his mom mad! He said “Mom, I will fix it.” She said “You better fix it”. That’s how he figured out how the timing gear worked. He took it apart and put it back together and of course it wouldn’t start so he took it apart again, put it all back together with the notches matching and it started. He did this 2 or 3 times just to make sure it really worked. He was 15 at that time. Kurt then started working on cars but he found his passion with fast boats, working on them and driving them. He had one that ran 120 mph. Kurt loved running his boat on the river, especially when the water looked like a sheet of glass. Kurt managed repair shops for several years, and then opened Kurt’s Offroad in Joshua.
Kurt is survived by his wife Rhonda Doerr Cook; mother Virginia Crawford; daughters Cristi Lynn Cook, Amanda Selvera , Ashley Doerr and Candace Neel ; sons Christopher Lee Taylor, Patrick Flowers, Lance Cross and Jordan Lozano Cook; 3 sisters Vicki Langley, Ronda Brewer and Darla Wiley; grandchildren Christian England, Destini England, Joseph Selvera, Mia Jo Selvera, Payton Doerr, Preston Doerr, Dawson Doerr, Brentley Flowers, Bristol Flowers, Logan Erb, and Kat Erb, along with many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
