Larry Neal Gafford, 66, of Lipan, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018. Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, July 20, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Interment: Evergreen Cemetery,Lipan, Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home.
Larry was born on August 18, 1951 in Lubbock, Texas to William and Ethelene (Dyer) Gafford. He married Debbie Lorraine Merritt on August 26, 1972 in Lubbock, Texas. They were married 45 years. Larry was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his granddaughters. He was kin to everyone in Lipan. Larry’s parents, grandparents, great grandparents were all born and raised in Lipan, Texas .Larry had a great sense of humor and was very generous. He loved hunting, fishing and counting deer with his dog Rocky. He was an active member of Church of Christ. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a special aunt: Hazel Stringer of Lipan.
Larry is survived by his loving wife: Debbie Gafford; children: Stephanie Ayala and husband Peter, Brian Gafford, Chris “Critter” Gafford; granddaughters: Ashlea Ayala and Meagan Gafford; brother: Steve Gafford; sister: Pat Wright and husband Ronnie, lots of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends and his companion dog Rocky.
