Larry Padget, Sr.

Dr Larry Padget died on November 25 after a 13 year battle with cancer. He bravely continued practicing medicine while denying any pain. He died at his Granbury home circled by his wife and children.

Service: 3:00 Sunday, December 1, 2013, Action United Methodist Church. Interment: Granbury Cemetery. His body will lie in state at Wiley Funeral Home through Saturday. Memorials: Donations should be directed to Mission Granbury.

He had practiced family medicine in Granbury for 41 years. He often saw up to four generations of family. He built the Granbury Care Center which he owned for about 20 years. He began practicing at the original hospital, which is now the Opera House dorm. He built a clinic by the original hospital and later built the large clinic by the new hospital. He delivered 1000 babies and the first baby at the new hospital. In 2009 he moved his clinic adjacent to his wife, Pamela Padget’s store.

He is survived by: Wife; Pamela Padget. Children; Dr. Larry Gene Padget, Jr. and wife Dr. Alison Padget, Barbara Padget, Cindy Moon and husband Jason, Patricia Chupka and husband Art, Amy Revett. Grandchildren; Anne-Marie Padget, Luke Padget, Benjamin Moon, Cade Chupka, Caleb Chupka, Emma Revett, Avery Grace Revett. Mother; Velma Padget. Sisters; Leayh Graham, Linda Ligon and husband Dr. John B. Ligon. Several nieces and nephews.
