Nan was born on December 26, 1955, in Bridgeport, Texas. She grew up in Saginaw where she met Steve, the love of her life, in the fifth grade. The two graduated from Boswell High School in May of 1974 and married in July of the same year.
Nan began her career with the city of Saginaw on March 22, 1976, where she was hired for the positions of office manager/bookkeeper and secretary to the city council. Over the years, she served the city in various capacities. On September 12, 1999, she was appointed city manager. During her 41-year tenure, she served with 7 mayors and 44 council members. The population of Saginaw grew from 3,450 in 1976 to 21,320 in 2017. Nan served proudly and truly loved the people of Saginaw, Texas.
Anyone who knew her loved her and her smile always made people feel welcome. She loved shopping and spending time with friends, especially if that meant a trip to Winstar! Most importantly, she always made time for her family. Nan had a servant’s heart in every aspect of her life. She gave to her church, the community, and her family. She will be dearly missed.
