I'm in shock as I'm sure everyone is over this!!! Larry was such an amazing person that I will truly miss. When Larry would come to Cedar Mills he always had his dog or dogs with him and would always have donuts for our service department. I would always joke with him that he needs to bring us salad instead so the guys want get stuck in the boats they are working on. Prayers to his wife and family.

I met Larry when he came to Eagle Mountain Lake and he started his Yacht service, and he was the sailboat expert. We were working with the same people and marinas as I had the pile drivers on the lake. We had a friendship and many of the same friends on the lake. Larry is my hero he was a family man, business man, and good to everyone, a man of God. I will never forget Larry and all the times we had on Eagle Mountain lake.

What a shock to us all . I’ve worked with Larry on home and business projects for at least 30 years. And we had much more to do also. We Became instant friends the first day ! I always smile when I think of the time spent around Larry and Jill two very special people God joined together that work hard and love their family.. They where always busy and building their future together. I am very sad to lose my friend but still feel comfort in memories of the time and talks we had. All my prayers on your family today. I know the coming days will be hard without Larry to turn to , but he’s only moved up to where we all will meet again soon. May this biblical quote help at this time:: ISAIAH —41:10 ( So do not fear , for I am with you ; do not be dismayed , for I am your God . I will strengthen you and help you ; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand . )

Larry was one of the kindest, generous, and most thoughtful individuals I know. His calm demeanor and quick smile were his trademarks. I always enjoyed the hours we spent sitting next to each other on the foredeck of DD racing at the boat club and it saddens me that you won’t be there next time. I feel lucky to call you my friend. You left us too soon. Rest In Peace, I will miss you.

Trevor Oyler left a message on May 25, 2021:
I started working for Larry when i was 15 years old. I was homeschooled so i had a lot of free time on my hands so Larry kept me busy and out of trouble. We sanded the bottom of sail boats, fixed fences, built his porch, built garden planters, spent a lot of time out on the lakes installing and fixing boat lifts, and you can bet your butt when there was no work to be done i would be weed wacking. I will always be grateful to Larry for teaching the meaning of a hard days work. He was an amazing and considerate man. Everyday we worked he would buy his employees lunch. He went above and beyond for us. Larry inspired me to chase my dreams which led to me joining the US Navy. I am so sorry for your loss, Larry impacted so many people and I am forever grateful for him.

I recall first meeting Larry around 1999 when I bought my first hydro-hoist from him. I knew immediately from that point forward that Larry would be the calming voice of reason & trusting professional whom I would always consult for every boat I would own. It prides me to say that over the decades I enjoyed countless hours with Larry talking boats, talking vintage cars, crewing, or having lunch, a drink and a laugh at the FWBC. Rest in peace my friend, I will miss you dearly.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
John Hardesty left a message on May 25, 2021:
Larry helped me and many others get our first real sailboat into the water safely from wherever it came from. It’s scary looking at your new boat from the bottom when it is on the crane, but Larry’s wry smile and calm competence kept everything on track. I knew then that this was a community that I wanted to be a part of. He will be sorely missed and always remembered.

Butschek family- The Lonestar District and Longhorn Council were so sorry to learn of the loss of Vincent. Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, said this to Scouts everywhere: "I often think when the sun goes down, the world is hidden by a big blanket from the light of heaven, but the stars are little holes pierced in that blanket by those who have done good deeds in this world. Vincent and the Butschek family are such people who have done good deeds in this world.
