Linda Anita Timbes-Allen

LINDA ANITA TIMBES-ALLEN
Linda died September 19, 2019 with her loving family by her side in Granbury, Texas. She was born on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas in 1939 to John R. and Anita Timbes and lived in Granbury for the past 14 years.
She graduated with honors from North Dallas High School (’57). She attended college at North Texas University for one year. Linda met and married Cullen Allen while he attended Texas A&M. She was a homemaker while her husband was an Army Officer and FISD teacher and administrator.
She was a member of First Baptist Church Granbury and was active in various Christian ministries and various charities such as Loaves & Fishes and the Edna Gladney Center (house mother).
Her interests included her family, traveling, crocheting rugs, quilting, cooking, sewing, and reading. Some of Linda’s rugs are located at the Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her father, mother-in-law, and husband. Linda was known for her gifts of service and giving of her time, talents and money to God’s glory
She is survived by her four children – Steve, Tim, Dawn and Melinda and their spouses; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grand-children, as well as her brother Gary Timbes and many close family friends.
A memorial service will be held at Wiley Funeral Home on Tuesday September 24th at 3:00 p.m. in Granbury. Graveside service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 25, 2019, Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Monday, September 23, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Texas A&M Corp of Cadets.
