Louis Quirk, 94, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, at his home.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Louis was born February 22, 1920, in Woodstown, New Jersey, the ninth of 20 children born to Thomas and Mary E. Quirk. Mr. Quirk served in the United States Army during World War II. On July 18, 1969, he married Cathy Williams in Big Spring. He retired from the Fort Worth Independent School District in 1988.
He was a lifetime member of the Rodeo Historical Society, a lifetime member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) and the Cowboys Turtle Association (CTA).
Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy on September 11, 2012, after 43 years together.
He is survived by his children, Gale Collins, Mary Helen Smart and Pat Collins; brothers, Ralph, Richard, Leo and wife, Mattie, John and wife, Jane, Milton and wife, Dorothy, Earl and wife, Peggy; sister, Dorothy Basil; a large extended family; and many lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
