Louis Ray Flory, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in his home after battling many chronic illnesses.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, in the sanctuary of Ash Creek Baptist Church, Azle.
Upon graduating high school, he joined the Army, serving as a tanker. After serving two years, he began a lifelong career in the tower business. At 36 and love at first sight, he married his wife of 34 years. He devoted his life to God, his family, and his work.
After retiring from the tower business, he nestled into Azle, and became an active member of his church in Boyd, Trinity Baptist Church. Always cracking jokes and making those around him smile and feel loved, he enjoyed the rest of his days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Louis Flory, and his son, Michael Carter.
He leaves his wife of 34 years, Janice Flory; his daughters, Stacy Downs and husband, Rickey, and Leigh Ann Flory; his son, Matthew Flory; grandchildren, Brittany Rosengren, Jacey Rosengren, Kassidy Rosengren, Holly Downs, Kael Flory, and Cameron Flory; many close friends; and his faithful dog, Sadie.
