Margaret Marie Stringer Light, 98, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 in Glen Rose, Texas.

Visitation: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 27, 2016, Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose, Texas.
Marie was born to Festus and B. Vera Stringer on September 9, 1918 in Tahoka, Texas. She was one of five children. She married Kendall Crawford Light on January 25, 1935 and eight children were born to this union. She was a welder during World War II; she had the nickname of Rosie the Riveter. She was a housewife and mother plus she helped her husband with the family produce business for many years. In 2007, she moved into the Glen Rose Nursing and Rehab Center.
Marie is survived by five children: Wilford Light of Seagvile, TX, Pat Griffin of Portervile, CA, Kenneth (Louisa) Light of Pierre, SD, Betty (Wayne) Nelson, of Fort Collins, CO, and Carolyn (Ron) Payton of Buena Vista, CO, 24 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband: Kendall Crawford Light in 2004, parents, mother-in-law and father- in-law, four brothers: Cecile Stringer, Lewis Stringer, Wallace Stringer, and Earnest Stringer, two daughters: Cloria York, Floria Perry, one son: Alan Light, three son-in-laws: Troy York, Ira Griffin, and Eddie Perry.
