Maria was born January 7, 1969 in Durango, Mexico. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Morgan.
Survivors: Husband, Antelmo Contreras of Glen Rose; son, Antelmo Contreras of Glen Rose; daughters, Mayra Chavez, Carina Santos and husband, Luis, Belinda Contreras and husband, Filiberto, Lorina Contreras and husband, Jorge, Liset Contreras, Guadelupe Contreras and Maria Selene Contreras; mother, Lenarda Navares; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Antonio Lopez and wife, Delia of Meridian and Jerman Lopez of Mexico.
