Granbury resident Marvin H. Lindsay passed away on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 90.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 14th at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Granbury, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 13th at Wiley Funeral Home in Grandbury, TX. Marvin will be laid to rest in Perryton, Texas on Saturday, March 15th at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 N. Meadows Drive, Granbury, TX 76048.
Marvin was born on August 20, 1923 in Carter Nine, Osage County, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Clarence Herbert Lindsay and Sarah Esther Stone Lindsay. Marvin attended Effingham High School in Effingham, Illinois, where he met his future wife Ruth Elizabeth Stortzum. Shortly after graduating high school, Marvin entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in January of 1943. He served as a Technical Sergeant and was a radio operator and waist gunner on a B24 Liberator for the 829th Squadron in the 485th Heavy Bomber Group in the 15th Air Force.
