Mary Alice McCullough, 71, of Granbury, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 24, 2019. She was born on December 6, 1947 in Brownwood, Texas. A Visitation will be on Friday, July 26, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wiley Funeral Home. Mary’s memorial service is being held at Mambrino Baptist Church on July 27, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. A graveside service will follow at Caradan Cemetery in Mills County at 3:00 P.M.
Mary considered her greatest mission field to be her family. She had the blessing of raising two daughters and playing an active role in the lives of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
She celebrated many other accomplishments in life. She was the Valedictorian of her class, a certified court reporter, a member of Sweet Adelines, a foster parent, the camp director for those with special needs, owner of Granbury Sweet Shoppe, school secretary for most of her career and church bookkeeper during her retirement.
Above all, Mary’s greatest joy was to serve the Lord and minister to those in need. She was often heard to say, “Lord, make me a blessing to someone today.” We may never know all the lives she touched, but we will always remember she sought to touch lives.
Mary was a gentle and kind spirit. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Mindy (Reed) Hodges and son-in-law Tim Hodges, daughter Mollie (Barnes) Corpus and son-in-law Manuel Corpus; grandchildren Elizabeth (Reed) Henderson and husband Spencer Henderson, Marion (Barnes) Mourer and husband Nic Mourer and Aaron Barnes; great- granddaughter Kenna Mourer; brother Clarence Horner and wife Teresa; sister Dorothy Eoff; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Almeta Horner; her son-in-law Mark Barnes, and two grandsons Benjamin and Andrew Reed.
Memorials can be made to the Widow’s Fund, in care of Mambrino Baptist Church.
