GRANBURY — Mary Kwon Williamson, 92, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, in Granbury.
Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury.
Mary was born Jan. 6, 1922 on Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. She was a loving, caring and very giving mother to her three sons. She won many awards as an orator for her school on Maui and was chosen to represent the Hawaiian Islands in national competition. Mary was a skilled seamstress and was self-taught to play the ukulele, guitar and violin. She frequently performed the hula dance and sang Hawaiian songs for the various Granbury Schools. She enjoyed singing in the Granbury First United Methodist Church Choir until her later years. Mary formed her own country band with local players and would visit the different nursing homes in Granbury performing for the residents. She loved playing bridge and was an outstanding artist who did commission work. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Morris “Jack” Williamson on Jan. 12, 2014.
Survivors: Sons, Morris L. Williamson, Jr. (Willie) of Round Rock, Michael R. Williamson (Bobby) and wife, Rosa Linda Delgado, of Saginaw, Johnny L. Williamson of Dallas; grandchildren, Lori Williamson, Lana Tompson (Tommy), Deena King and Angela Niekamp, Minnie Cantu (Joe), Veronica; great grandchildren, Tyler and Brooke Thompson, Dylan Williamson, David King, Steven and Sara Niekamp, Jace and Amber Cantu, and Veronica’s sons; sister, Catherine Kobayashi and husband, Clifford, of Oahu, Hawaii.
