Melburn Eugene Ray, 91, passed away at a local nursing home on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
Funeral service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Martin’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Ray was born September 10, 1923 in Campbell, Texas to James Ausbon and Lora Lee Green Ray.
He was preceded in death by his parents , a son Steve Ray and sister, Velma Ray.
He attended Campbell High School and graduated in the class of 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry for fifty-four years. He worked as a Manager for G.C. Murphy for over thirty-five years, retiring in 1988.
Survivors: wife, Margaret Ray, sisters, Freda Morgan and Dell Lockhart; grandson, Chris Ray and brother-in-law, Bill Jones and his extended family.
