Michael Kelley Lewellen, born August 9, 1954 in Glen Rose, Texas passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019. He was one of the last babies to be delivered in Glen Rose. He attended all 12 years of school at Glen Rose and graduated in 1972. He graduated from Tarleton State University with an Industrial Technology degree in 1976.
His working career consisted of 6 years as a Pipe foreman working for Brown and Root at the TXU Electric Nuclear Power Plant and over 26 years as the QC Manager for Waples Machine in Granbury Texas.
In 1991, he and his wife started Lone Star Sporting Clays, their own Sporting Clays business, and this became one of his life loves and grew this into one of the premier ranges in Texas and was inducted into the Texas Sporting Clays Hall of Fame in 2009.
He married his wife Donna on June 20, 1981. He became a Stepdad of two boys and has watched them grow into great men and has five grandchildren that had him wrapped around his fingers.
He loved hunting, fishing, traveling, antiquing and his passion was restoring old trucks and going to car shows.
Michael is survived by his wife Donna of 38 years, two sons, Marty Starnes and wife Shannon, Tommy Starnes, brother Stephen Lewellen and wife Jane. Five grandchildren, Matlin Starnes, Morgan Starnes, Aubrey Starnes, Kenna Starnes and Teddy Starnes.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Edith and Kelley Lewellen and sister Susie Brown.

A Celebration of Life for Mike with be held at Lone Star Sporting Clays at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 2, 2019 with a gathering from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Glen Rose.
