Betty Garland Harkins left a message on October 5, 2019:
Mike was in the same class with my younger brother, Ted Garland, when we were growing up in GR. Mike and Ted both were little blonde, tow-headed dolls and when my father would drive us over to the Lewellens to drop off large crates of eggs on Wednesdays and Saturdays (in the late 50's and early 60's) Ted and Mike would play with their little toy trucks under a shade tree. I am saddened that Mike is gone now. May God's love and grace heal the hearts of his family and friends.

I remember Mike as a little blonde boy back in the late 50's and early 60's. My father, Red Garland, and my little brother, Ted (also a little towhead who was in Michael's grade in school) would to over on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the summer and take the crates of eggs to Kelly Lewellen. Ted and Mike would play while we were there. The Lewellen's were a wonderful family and Mike was a sweetheart. May God's love heal his family's hearts.

I remember that quite, red headed boy getting on our school bus...this just doesn't seem possible that this happened..but guess GOD needed to take his pain away.
