Mike Kirkland

Roy Michael Kirkland, age 77, of Granbury, Texas passed away peacefully on April 5, 2019. A Memorial Service will be held on April 10, at Wiley Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.
Mike was born in Hollis, Oklahoma to Leroy and Dixsie Kirkland on April 22, 1941. He was raised in Hollis, Oklahoma. He married his childhood sweetheart, Hannah Clark, on May 23, 1958. Together they made their home on a ranch that was originally owned by Hannah’s grandfather and were blessed with three children Kim Weldon, Melaney Dow, and Clark Kirkland.
He raised cattle and farmed wheat and cotton on the family ranch until he retired and moved to Granbury, Texas. He enjoyed golf, traveling, and gardening. He was very proud of being awarded yard of the month in De Cordova. To the surprise of all of his golfing buddies he had a Hole in One on the Par 3.
He is survived by his three children, Kim and husband Ted Weldon of Granbury, Melaney and husband Neal Dow of Edmond, OK and Clark Kirkland of Ft. Smith, AR. He also has 6 grandchildren, Ashley Bonina, Dustin Weldon, Neely Scully, and Elizabeth Dow, Sabrina Kirkland, and Kattie VanZandt. He has 6 great-grandchildren Emma Weldon, Piper Weldon, Alexandra Bonina, Madelyn Bonina, Bobby Scully and Margo Scully, and Kay Burchard, a sister, of Midland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah of 60 years and his parents.
