Mildred Catherine Eades McKenzie, 87, of Granbury, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Graveside service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018, Acton Cemetery, Visitation: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, August 3, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Mildred was born on August 23, 1930 in Granbury, Texas to Clyde and Mary Eades. She married Rufus Porter McKenzie on September 7, 1951 in Granbury, Texas. She lived in Tennessee and California while her husband served in the military. She loved travelling all over the United States, and visited 43 of the 50 states.
Mildred was kind, adventurous, generous and helpful. She was a volunteer at Acton United Methodist Church and People Helping People in her more active years.
She had a great sense of humor; and loved reading, woodworking, and playing games especially dominos and cribbage. She loved animals and spoiled her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister: Katie Marie Knox.
Mildred is survived by her daughters: Cathy McKenzie and Veda McKenzie, brother Naulon Eades, and numerous nephews, and extended family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
