Millard H. Hopson, 96, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015, in Fort Worth.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin, Tennessee. Services are under direction of Robert Ledford Funeral Home in Erwin, Tennessee.

Millard was born September 25, 1919, in Hawk, North Carolina, to Roosevelt and Lizzy Hopson and was the oldest of five children. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from the Army Reserve in 1974. He continued to work for U.S. Civil Service and retired at Carswell Air Force Base.

He is survived by his children, Sandra Lawley and husband, Chuck, of Fort Worth, Karen Wallerstedt and husband, Darren, of Bedford; grandchildren, Crystal Pettigrew, Lance Lawley, Sara Wallerstedt and Wendy Kosier; great-grandchildren, Raven and Paige Pettigrew.
