Mosselene Brittingham

November 29, 1919 - January 18, 2014

GRANBURY — Mosselene “Moss” Brittingham, 94, passed away in Granbury on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Granbury First United Methodist Church. Burial: Private interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Music Fund at Granbury First United Methodist Church (FUMCGranbury.org) or the Alzheimer’s Foundation (alz.org).
Moss was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., to Henry and Louise Newman. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, and her husband of 60 years, Freas William Brittingham.
Moss was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Eastern Star. She and her husband owned and operated several Rexall Drug stores in California. At age 51, Moss graduated from San Diego State College and taught Kindergarten for a number of years.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Quail Park Assisted Living, Trinity Mission Health and Rehab and Universal Hospice for their love and care of Moss.
Survivors: Son, Don Brittingham and wife, Shari; grandsons, Eric Brittingham and wife, Susan, Mike Brittingham and fiance’ Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Matthew and Ava; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Oh, what a blessing this precious lady was in our lives. She was a best friend, and she and Britt were like grandparents to Jeremy and Kristy. Moss was always looking for ways to help others--including bringing lemonade to a hot thirsty-looking neighbor. And you could never out-give her. She loved her family and was so proud of each one of them! Of course, she adored Eric and Michael. Thank you you for taking such good care of her, Donnie!
