GRANBURY — Mosselene “Moss” Brittingham, 94, passed away in Granbury on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Granbury First United Methodist Church. Burial: Private interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Music Fund at Granbury First United Methodist Church (FUMCGranbury.org) or the Alzheimer’s Foundation (alz.org).
Moss was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., to Henry and Louise Newman. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, and her husband of 60 years, Freas William Brittingham.
Moss was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Eastern Star. She and her husband owned and operated several Rexall Drug stores in California. At age 51, Moss graduated from San Diego State College and taught Kindergarten for a number of years.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Quail Park Assisted Living, Trinity Mission Health and Rehab and Universal Hospice for their love and care of Moss.
Survivors: Son, Don Brittingham and wife, Shari; grandsons, Eric Brittingham and wife, Susan, Mike Brittingham and fiance’ Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Matthew and Ava; and numerous nieces and nephews.
