Neal was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Earth, Texas to Perry and Delia Mae Trull. He married Joy Marlene Emmons on Aug. 5, 1954 in Spade, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Granbury for 40 years and served as a deacon.
Neal worked most of his career as an automotive parts distributor, making many special friends throughout central, south and west Texas. He had a reputation of being honest, organized and dependable to those he called on throughout his career. His retired years were spent mowing lawns for neighbors and friends who admired his humble spirit.
Neal’s love for sports was a passion he gained from his football, basketball, and baseball varsity playing days at Spade High School in the early 50’s. He spent a lifetime of Friday nights watching high school football. Neal kept up with Stan, his son-in-law’s team in Boerne for the past 30 years, although his loyalty for 40 years was with Granbury Pirate Athletics where he was found in the stands with his dear friends Willie Crossland and Bud Gifford. He enjoyed a lifetime of softball playing in a league in Stephenville throughout his 60’s. Neal loved his church and the many dear friends he made in Granbury and Shearer Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio.
Neal loved work, sports, and his church family, however his greatest achievement was his 61 years with his 4th grade sweetheart, Joy. His daughters Shelly and Carla knew he loved them through his sacrifice to provide and he was attentive throughout their lives.
He loved his four grandchildren Courtney, Coby, Sammy, Sunnye and great grandson, Jack who knew they could depend on his love and support through their endeavors.
Neal was a tremendous testimony of what a Christian husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend should truly look like.
