Olen Reynolds of Lipan, Texas, “Crossed Over the Jordan” January 16, 2021 in Weatherford, Texas. He was 93.
Olen was born May 1, 1927 in Lipan, Texas to George and Pearl Reynolds. A lifelong resident, he married the love of his life, Bea Reynolds, on November 8, 1947 following a successful deployment into Europe at the closing of WWII. Olen and Bea subsequently spent the entirety of their 71 years of marriage as Lipan Residents where they together built a successful farming and dairy operation until their retirement in later years.
Olen was an active member of Allison Baptist Church in excess of 80 years. Having never officially retired from music ministry, he led music at Allision Baptist from his teenage years into his late 80’s until he was physically unable. He also ledmusic at numerous revivals, funerals, and services, he was well known and loved by all in his community. As an ambassador for Christ, the provider of his family, a friend to all, and a servant of the community, Olen laid the foundation to which the family legacy would build upon. With a smile on his face and a song in his heart, he first loved His Lord and Savior, his family, the country he valiantly served, and the farm he cared for. His family, who was proud to call him Dad, Pop and Grandad take comfort in knowing he has heard the eternal words, “Well done, good and faithful servant” and has been reunited with all who have preceded him in the faith. He will be Mourned; He will be Missed; He will be happily celebrated for the victorious life helived.
Olen is survived by Daughter and Son-in-Law John and Martha Bosley of Denton; Son and Daughter-in-Law Nick and Patsy Reynolds of Lipan; Granddaughter and husband Lon Dale and Brandi Cannon of Frisco; Granddaughter and Husband George and Traci Szostek of Aubrey; Grandson and Wife Jarrod and Sheree’ Reynolds of Lipan; and Granddaughter and Husband Daniel and Joree Burnett of Lipan.
