I admired my friend so dearly. Her passion for our rough riders radiated her everyday. I first met my beautiful friend at Wayside. We are both original SHS rough riders. I am so blessed to have been your friend. Norman and Elizabeth, I am praying for you both. I love you, Ona Winders!

I am so sorry I will be unable to attend the viewing or services. I have just recently moved close to Brenham. Ona was a very special person. She wore so many hats throughout the years. Confidante, mentor, teacher, assistant principal, wife, and mother. Elizabeth and Norm, you are in my prayers, and I hope you find peace and comfort in knowing she loved you both dearly. God’s blessings to you both. Sincerely, Linda Hill

While teaching at Wayside and working on my masters degree in administration, I had the privilege of getting to shadow her and learn from her. We spent several Saturday mornings together working school detention and had good talks. The last time I I saw her which was last fall, she asked me to help her out of the chair as she said her back was hurting. I hated seeing her in pain. I will always remember her big smile and big heart for kids. Elizabeth I am glad I got to have you as a student in my class as well and I am praying for you and your family.
