Orpha Josephine “Jo” Cato of Granbury, Texas passed away peacefully the morning of December 28, following a brief illness. She was 91 and was residing in the Beehive Assisted Living Home in Granbury.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Lottie Baskin of Risco, Mo., her brother Robert Earl Baskin, her sister Patricia Twomey, her beloved daughter Brenda Gayle Cato-Smith and Jo’s husband of 60 yrs. Bennie D. Cato and second husband of three years Lee Herring.
Jo was born in Parma, Missouri and grew up in the nearby town of Risco. Jo married her childhood sweetheart Ben in 1947 upon his return from the Army. They moved that year to Texas where they later had two children, Brenda in 1948 and Kevin in 1951. Jo was a beloved mother and wife, a homemaker and the co-founder of Ura-Flex Mfg., Inc., a pipeline equipment company.
Jo was deeply spiritual and an active member and Sunday school teacher for over 40 years at the First United Methodist Church of Granbury. Jo was an extremely optimistic person, she was gracious, and generous to anyone in need. She took care of many along the way, and she will be missed by all her family and friends.
Jo is survived by her son Kevin Cato and wife Joni, 5 grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great Great-Grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Monday January 17, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, located at 301 NE Loop 567, Granbury, Texas 76048.
