Peter was born February 22, 1935 in El Dorado, Kansas to John and Elizabeth Hopkins. He married Lola Harvey December 19, 1955 in El Dorado, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1955 to 1959 and retired from Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Control Center in 1992. Peter liked to garden and enjoyed blue grass music. He was a member of First Baptist in Glen Rose and worked with the church in the Senior Department helping them with computers. He had lived in Glen Rose for 11 years.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Hopkins and sister, Patricia McCauley.
Survivors: Wife, Lola Hopkins; sons, Mike (Sandy) Hopkins and Jason (Linda) Hopkins; daughters, Polly Jo Cantrell and Beverly Sue (Charles Jr.) Everage; grandchildren, Matt Hopkins, Eric (Sara) Hopkins, Abigail Cantrell, Josiah Cantrell, Benjamin Cantrell, Grace (Callum) Hicks, Nathaniel Hopkins, Elisha Hopkins, Elizabeth Hopkins, Simon Hopkins and Caitlin Everage; adopted grandsons, David Anaya and Jonathan Anaya; great granddaughter, Elenore Hopkins; brother, John N. (Cheryl) Hopkins; and several nieces and nephews.
