I've know Phil for quite a few years now. Since 1984 I guess. We have had a lot of contact through Southwest Water and Tri-County Electric Cooperative. We were always crossing paths and he was always good for a kind word or a joke. I, for one, will miss him. My thoughts an prayers go out to his family and friends. May God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

I worked for and with Phil at SWWC. We became fast friends. We could and would joke around and talk about everything from our children, God, addictions, family, riding...there wasn't any subject we couldn't talk about. We even ministered to the same young lady in prison. We both rode and one time he had the guys go look for me as there was an ambulance that past by the office and he wanted to be sure I was ok. Out of the blue he would shoot rubber bands at me from across the office...especially if it got too quiet. We found we rode in some of the same benefit runs and would run into one another. When I got laid off, my world all but fell apart as I didn't expect it in the slightest. He stayed late to be sure I was ok...He let me cry and he had the shoulder for me to cry on...he talked me through it and helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'd like one of those hugs right now. Even though I've been away from SWWC for 3 years now I still find myself looking for him, especially at Walmart in the evening since I know how much he loved to shop especially when the store is crowded... lol. I love that man. I miss him more than there are words. Heaven is a better place with him there and I can't wait to get my Phil hug when I get there. My heart is broken...not only for his passing but for those of you that are hurting. He touched someone everywhere he went and in a good way. People respected him. He collected and he shared. He gave without exception or expectation. He loves the Lord first and he loves his family. Family was always huge and priority in his life and he loves them all more than they can possibly imagine. I pray the Lords peace, that surpasses all understanding over each and every person that is in mourning for this wonderful man. Remember, we are to Praise HIM through the storm...and right now...I know it is storming. Thank you Jesus...for the memories and for sending your angel Phil to guide us for the past 61 years. I love you Phil Ives...See you soon Brother.

I was a supplier for the company Phil worked for. We had just spoken the Monday before his death about the weather and him putting miles on his Harley. Then we spoke last that Friday before his death. He was one of my sweetest clients and I am heartbroken to hear this news. Myself and the staff at US Underwater Services is praying for his family and friends.
