Philip H. Ray, 75, a retired Lt. Colonel in the United States Marine Corps., passed away Monday March 3, 2014 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Saint Anne’s Church. Inurnment will be at Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandy Ray; children, William Ray of Allen Park, Michigan, and Natalie Ray and Melanie Ray Deml both of Fort Worth; brother, David Ray of Lakeland, Florida; sister, Phyllis McLaughlin of Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Philip, Andrew, Abigail, Casia, and Evelyn Ray and Katy and Chase Deml.

Phil & I were fellow Marines and close friends in the 1960s. We met briefly in Vietnam - I was with 1/7, I believe (but am no longer certain) he was with 1/1. Just found out he had died years before. Truer friend and more loyal comrade-in-arms does not exist. Keep the faith in Valhalla for me!
