R. Allen Roberts was born on September 8, 1955 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia to Ernest and Judy Roberts. Allen served in the U.S. Navy. He was introduced to Joyce in 1986 by friends. They married in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii. They shared the love of water, the beach, and the ocean. For eighteen years, Allen was a Hood County appraiser. Allen raised homing pigeons as a hobby. He raced pigeons since he was eight years old. He was known as the “Birdman” of Granbury.
Allen was survived by his wife: Joyce Roberts, sons: Ronnie and wife, Melissa, Roberts, Tommy Roberts, grandchildren: Ryan, Katie, Devon, Talon, father: Ernest Roberts, siblings: Eddie and wife, Christie Roberts, Tom Roberts, Shelly and husband, Ron, Anderson, many nieces and nephews and many extended family.
