John Megill left a message on February 26, 2017:
I first met Ray active duty in the early 70's. He recommended me for his relief on staff and this began a close friendship. We stayed in touch through the years. In 1983 when I retired from the Navy, Ray was working for Aerospatial and he again recommended me for a job. This time at Aerospatial where we then worked together until our second retirement. Years later, Saturday morning breakfast hangouts with half a dozen retired military guys became our usual. This was a real exposé of war stories (some were true) that lasted some years and sometimes encouraged by other customers of the restaurants (Brenda's) to hear more. Looking back, good friends have special personalities and Ray was one of a kind. His good character and love of his family always stood out and made him easy to talk to. I will forever miss my friend Ray.
