GRANBURY — Richard C. Eakins, Sr., 83, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, in Granbury after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Acton Baptist Church. Burial: 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.

Richard was born to Chester M. and Eva Rose Eakins on Apr. 23, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Okla. His father was a Southern Baptist minister in various towns in Oklahoma, including Prague where he met his future wife, Billie Willoughby. They were married on Oct. 21, 1949. To this union was born three sons, Richard Jr., Ronald and Randal.
Richard worked for American Airlines for 33 years. Then he and a partner, Jim Burger, built houses and developed sub-divisions around the Grapevine, Southlake and Keller areas for about 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Randal Eakins.
Survivors: Wife of 65 years, Billie; sons Richard Jr. and wife, Barbara, Ronald and wife, Linda; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Ralene Martin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
