Richard Emanuel Talavera, Sr. passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Mass: 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 9, 2019, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Rosary: 6:00 PM, Friday, February 8, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose.
Richard Emanuel Talavera was born in Pecos, Texas on May 31, 1943 to Maria and Alvine Talavera. They made their home in Monahans, TX where he was raised. He married Ofelia Quintela in September of 1961 in Monahans, TX. While working in Monahans, he went to work for Brown and Root as a truck driver. Eventually he transferred out of state as a carpenter where he mastered his craft. He moved to Glen Rose when Comanche Peak started excavation. He worked out there for many years and eventually ended his career at a paper mill in Arkansas. Richard raised his kids in Glen Rose. He was a catholic and a member of the St Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Maria and Alvino Talavera, one brother, Alvino Talavera III.
Richard is survived by his wife Ofelia Talavera, children: Elizabeth Villa and husband Arturo, Steve Talavera, Richard Talavera and wife Desiree, Alvino Talavera and wife Judy and Sam Foust, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a sister: Rebecca.
Pallbearers- Gabe, Abel, Leonard, Michael, JJ, Adam, and Villa Talavera.
