Richard graduated from Weatherford High School in 1955. He retired from Bell Helicopter as a Supervisor after working 32 years. He was a Jaycees Member for years where he volunteered his time to help the community and young adults. He coached women’s softball and enjoyed watching the Rangers. A few of his hobbies were playing the guitar and deer hunting but what he really loved was being a family man.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Ruth Stephens, mother Ellen Cooper and stepfather Bill Cooper
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory wife Sue Stephens; children Sherrie Ahern and husband Brian, Phyllis Stephens and husband Jimmy Laney, Kevin Stephens and wife Liza; stepchildren Mike and Christy Mulkey; grandchildren Felicia, Ryan, Colby, Brandon and Vance; step grandchildren Sara, Amanda and Jordan; and 23 great grandchildren.
A special thanks to Maria Angeles, Claudia Nevarez and Maria Elena Vega. These ladies helped the family with Richard with loving compassion during a difficult time. Also, a special thanks to the “Punchin Parkinson’s” at First Christian Church of Granbury.
