Ricky Waylon Mitchell, 25, devoted son and father, of North Richland Hills, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 8, 2022, after battling for life several weeks at the hospital.
Visitation was held from 12 Noon until 1:30, Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Wiley Funeral Home, in Glen Rose. A graveside committal service followed at 2:30, Sunday, at Rock Creek Cemetery, in Glen Rose. Pastor Jason Pullin brought the message, and several friends and co-members with Ricky, of his flock gave personal remembrances. A reception memorial celebration was held after the service at Somervell County Citizens Center also in Glen Rose. These events were well attended by family, friends, and supporters. A large contingent representing Sober Living America, and also the Salvation Army were present, groups Ricky had belonged to.
Ricky was born April 19, 1996 in Fort Worth to Ricky Mitchell and Joni Qualls. Ricky will be remembered for his sense of humor and for his enjoyment of life. Always looking out for others, Ricky was empathetic and willing to help anyone he met. Ricky was a “sneaker head” collecting a large number of sneakers, and of course a matching outfit to go with each!
Ricky is survived by his son, Riley Mitchell, his mother and step-father, Joni and David Marchant; his father, Ricky Mitchell; by his siblings, Denise Barnes, Eric Castleberry, Michael Castleberry, and Luke Foster; and by numerous step-brothers and sisters.
