Rita M. Langston

I met Rita at Tarleton while we were living in the dormitory. She was always the kindest and sweetest. She always had a smile on her face and something kind to say about others. I'm praying for you during this time of loss. I know she is celebrating in heaven.

We will all miss our dear sister in Christ! Rita was kind, caring, soft spoken and always cared for others more than herself!! She was a sweet humble spirit which we all loved. David, you had an angel here with you for many years! Now she is with her eternal Father... and we can all rejoice in that! Our heartfelt love to you and your family!!

Rita was my dearest, oldest friend. The first day I met her (over 43 years ago), I knew she was someone special. She and I never lived close to each other, but whenever we get together, we always picked up right where we left off. It was almost like no one else was in the room but the two of us. We were truly "kindred spirits". Through the years, we wrote and emailed each other - always sharing our happy times, sad times, times of pondering. It was our little joke that we'd meet for lunch the next day (even though we live in two different states), and then tease one another about not showing up. Rita was my spiritual mentor, my encourager, my confidant. She was always there, always giving me encouragement. She adored her children and grandkids. She was so proud of each and every one of them. Although she was beyond excited at the thought of going to Heaven and seeing Jesus face to face, she was sad that she'd have to leave her family. I loved how she said that the very things she was sad about leaving were actually her greatest blessings in life. So she thanked God and gave Him glory for that. She always wanted to bring Him glory....in life and in death. She was an amazing, extraordinary woman, and I will miss her greatly, but she and I have talked a lot about Heaven and how we will meet up when I get there. Rita, I love you.....my life has been richer in knowing you. I will miss you greatly, but I know you are home and I will see you again.

Best Friend when I was 3 years old. We lived next door to each other and she was ALL the best memories I have as a child until she moved. God blessed me with finding her again in 2013/2014. She was a loving person from her birth. She will be so missed.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family. Rita was a beautiful person both inside and out and the sweetest person we knew as well as someone with tremendous faith and love of God.

Such a sweet lady & friend. I felt privileged to be her friend. She was always so pleasant to be around. She loved the Lord and showed it daily. We are so thankful that as believers we will see her again. We love you David and are here when you need us. Our love and prayers are coming your way daily.

What a privilege it was to fellowship with Rita during her illness. Her unfailing love for her family and the Lord Jesus was in itself a tribute to her godly character. God's purpose to conform her to Christ was always evident. She is loved by many and will be sorely missed.
