GRANBURY — Robbie Elizabeth Hayworth, died in her home in the Mambrino community in Granbury on Sunday, July 19, 2015.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at Mambrino Baptist Church.
Interment: Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Hood County.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home.
She was born August 12, 1916 in Somervell County to Francis and Ethel Barkley Armstrong.
She joined the Mambrino Baptist Church in 1935 where she was an active member for 80 years. For over 70 years she taught a Sunday school class almost every Sunday. For many years she was also the church pianist and served on numerous church committees.
On December 21, 1933, Robbie married Byrl Harvel Hayworth in Hill County, Texas and they reared three sons in the Mambrino community.
Robbie was a loving Mother, Grandmother and friend. She was a godly woman who lived her life in service to the Lord. She led many people to the Lord and was a perfect example of a Christian woman for all that knew her.
Robbie was an excellent seamstress, gardener and cook. She was famous for her green grape cobblers. She loved the outdoors and grew beautiful flowers and gardens.
Survivors: Two sons, Donald Hayworth (Sandra) and Hubert Hayworth (Marlene); six grand-children, seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Byrl, a son, Francis, and a daughter, Marlene.
