Robert “Bob” Leonard Williams entered the gates of Heaven on October 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80 years old.

Memorial Service:  11 am, Monday, November 8, 2021, at Lighthouse Fellowship, 7200 Robertson Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76135

Inurnment to follow:  3:00 pm, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.

Bob Williams lived his life loving the Lord, loving his family, loving others up until his last earthly breath. What a legacy he leaves behind for his friends and family. The world is a better place because of the warm love Bob Williams exuded to everyone he met.

Bob was born to George Leonard and Katherine (Lyder) Williams on May 14, 1941, in Osawatomie, Kansas. In March of 1961, Bob met the love of his life, Karen Sue, on a blind date and married her six months later, September 24th in Garden City, Missouri. That’s 60 years of marriage! 60 years of love, devotion, and dedication to his wife and three children, Kathy, Jeff and Jason. While Bob’s family was his everything, Bob’s faith was his identity. Bob was dedicated to serving the church in any capacity. If the doors were open, Bob was there serving as an Ordained Deacon, Youth Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, or enjoying a Men’s Bible Study. Bob was devoted to investing in the lives of the next generation and the importance of following Jesus. Bob’s gift of serving others was evident in everything he did.

As a Gulf War Veteran, Bob proudly served and retired from the United States Navy after 21 years as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He absolutely loved camping, boating, and most of all lending a hand when someone needed a little help. Bob also had a passion for model railroads and airplanes stemming from his time working as an engine mechanic at Santa Fe Railroad and building F-16 fighter jets at Lockheed Martin.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest sister, Donna Kay Torrez.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Sue Williams of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Kathy Lynn Williams (4 children); sons, Jeffrey Kendall Williams and wife, Robin (5 children) and Jason Robert Williams and his wife, Blake (3 children); siblings, Don Williams, Jim Williams and Karen Sue Attebury.

Bob and Karen’s home was the normal gathering place for holidays and birthdays. With 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, it was always a packed but joy-filled time of fellowship and laughter at “Grandma and Grandpa’s” house.

I love you Robert Leonard Williams and will miss you so… but will undoubtedly see you again.
