Robert C. Broom was born on Oct 9,1933 in Whitt, TX to Wiley Oscar Broom and Nancy Jane Wells Broom. He was raised in Mineral Wells, TX. He married his high school sweetheart Maureen Dodson on Nov 15, 1952 and moved to Ft. Worth, TX. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-56. He and Maureen moved to Everman, TX in 1968 and raised their 3 children. They owned and operated B&G Furniture Company in Everman. They moved their residence and business to Rendon in 1983. Upon Maureen’s death in 2003, Robert closed his business and moved to Woodville, TX for 10 years before moving to Granbury, TX where he resided at Quail Park Retirement Village. Burial will be at the Perrin Memorial Gardens in Perrin, TX.
He was pre-deceased by wife Maureen, his parents, brothers; Don, Jim, Charles, Ted, Ned, son-in-law; Mike Smith.
He is survived by his 3 children: Debbie Barnett and husband Fred of Granbury, TX, Susan Smith of Peoria, TX, and Robert (Tony) Broom and wife Kim of Crowley, TX. 7 grandchildren: Amy Waskom, Angela Sanders, Jennifer Bond, Ryan Broom, Reagan Broom, Ross Barnett and Talon Pritchard. He has 6 great grandchildren. Additional family members include his brother Jerry and 3 sisters; Ann Smyers, Marguriete Crum, Louise Duvall; sisters-in-law Jeanette Lammons, Judy McDougal, brother-in-law Jesse Dodson, daughter-in-law Kelli Broom Chambers and a host of nieces and nephews.
