R.L. was born August 12, 1928 in Bluff Dale, Texas to Robert and Johnnie Derrick. He married Sara Lee Erwin on October 22, 1949. He and his family moved to Granbury in 1963. He opened an auto upholstery shop and became known as “Rayco”.
R.L. was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Sara Derrick, parents: Robert and Johnnie Derrick, brother: Dewey Derrick, sister: Vivian Alexander and great-grandson: Parker Pool.
R.L. is survived by his two daughters: Conna Derrick and Shirley Pool and husband Garland of Granbury, grandson: Kaleb Pool and wife Shayla of Rio Vista, Texas, great-granddaughter: Emma Pool, sisters: Hazel Holder and Zelma Hancock, brother: Vernon Derrick and wife Joann all of Stephenville, Texas, special friend: Dorrace Hubbard and many nieces and nephews.
