GRANBURY — Robert M. Ferry, 92, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 in Fort Worth. Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Acton Cemetery. Memorials: American Cancer Society.
Robert was born Feb. 12, 1922 in Willoby, Ohio to Edwin and Mildred Mapes Ferry. He was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Air Force and a meteorologist for the National Weather Service for 37 years. Robert was a member of Acton United Methodist Church and the Men’s Golf Assoc. and tennis club at DeCordova. He was an avid investor and philanthropist.
Survivors: Children, Judy and Tom Mairs and Bob and Nancy Ferry; grandchildren, Mike and Jeanora Mairs, Jennifer and John Peacock, Rebecca Bailey and Laura King; great grandchildren, Ashley and Allison Peacock, Andrew Mairs and Dylan Keck.
