I became acquainted with Robert when I started employment with IRS in 1971, worked with him in Austin for five years until we were both promoted to manager in different parts of U.S. We were good friends and worked together closely, socialized outside of work. I attended the marriage of one of his girls and he did likewise for my daughter. We were reunited in East Texas in 1984 after I transferred with IRS to the Longview, Texas office. Robert was stationed at the Tyler IRS office. We had great times together until he retired in 1995 and lost touch afterwards. I knew his wife Carol who was also affiliated with the Tyler, TX IRS office. Robert had a great personality and displayed excellent Revenue Officer skills in his job with IRS. I didn’t know of his death until March of 2023 when I queried the Internet to learn of his passing in 2019. Robert was a good friend and I still miss his presence in my life.

Although cousins, we barely knew each other growing up. Luckily for us, when they moved to Granbury, we all grew to be close friends as well as family. I treasure our travels, card games and meals, and the knowledge he shared of our family’s genealogy. I miss him a lot but believe that he is living with the fullness of joy and no more pain. RIP dear cousin and may God heal Carol’s spirit.

I knew Robert and Carol from our IRS working days. Robert was a wonderful revenue officer who helped us all. May he rest in peace and may God give his family the peace and love that surpasses all understanding.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
