Robert T. Johnson, 102, of Pecan Plantation, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018. Memorial service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 30, 2018, Acton United Methodist Church. Inurnment: Acton United Methodist Church Columbarium. In Lieu of flowers: memorials may be made to Happy Hill Farm.
Robert was born on March 16, 1916 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Lee and Dolly Johnson. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas. He was devoted to his work as a chemist for Dow Chemical. He moved up the ladder and over time took on more important managerial positions in both Chemical Engineering and Production. He retired to Granbury in 1984 and was an active member of Acton United Methodist Church.
Robert enjoyed hunting with his sons. He loved hunting deer, elk, moose, duck and doves. He also liked to skeet shoot.
Robert liked traveling, whether it was on family vacations in the car or cruising. He married Nelda June Kruzel on March 3, 2001 in Granbury. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Ruth.
Robert is survived by his loving wife: June Johnson, sons: Robert T. Johnson Jr. and wife Harriet, and Glenn Johnson, stepson: Rick Ferguson and wife Janet, grandchildren: Jan Bates and husband Dan, June Underhill and husband Jim, Jennifer Salinas and husband Mark, Nancy Johnson, Alison Clinton and husband Sloan, Matthew Ferguson and wife Kerri, Justin Ferguson and wife Becca, Andrew Ferguson and wife Jennifer; twenty great-grandchildren, and nephew Robert Simpson.
