Roger Williamson

Roger Williamson, 84, of Lipan, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018. Service: 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2018, First Baptist Church, Lipan, Interment: Nubbin Ridge Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Saturday, Wiley Chapel, Lipan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lipan Fair Fund.

Roger was born on July 8, 1934 in Acton, Texas to Walker and Bertha Williamson. He proudly served in the United States Army. He married Vivian Purselley on December 28, 1954. He loved his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roger received his master’s degree in education. He was an Ag teacher for 35 years. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Lipan.
Roger loved to go camping and fishing in Colorado. A trip to Africa with his son, John was memorable. He loved to tinker and work on things. His motto was “Why buy something new when you can fix it. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walker and Bertha Williamson, wife: Vivian Williamson, son: Jim Williamson, granddaughter: Jacie Williamson and brother: Tommy Williamson.

Roger is survived by his son: John Williamson and wife Tammie, daughter: Lori Riddle and husband Jody, grandsons: Tyler Williamson and wife Krystal, JoDan Riddle, Casey Riddle, and Seth Riddle and wife Zayle, great-grandson: Tate Williamson, great-granddaughters: Kannyn Williamson, Vivienne Riddle, Scarlett Riddle, sister: Carol Sue Reed and husband Jimmie, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
