I meet Phyllis at TxDot she invited my family over to their house one Friday oh what Fun. I got to meet Zinn and he also worked at TxDot. Remember us joking about all of his braces from all the surgeries. We had some great laughs and lots of fun. Unfortunately we lost touch after we retired but have thought of him often. Now I learn they live less than 2 miles from me. Love you Phyllis. RIP my friend.

I had a lot of good times working with Zinn over a period of 30 years. I have missed him since retirement, but our paths never crossed again. He always had something going around the office. His passing is a loss to a bunch of people. Phyllis may god continue to bless and keep you until you and Zinn meet again. I think about all the good times we had at you'll s house in Arlington often. Take care of yourself.

I had the opportunity to work with Zinn at TXDOT and in Private Industry. He was always a fountain of knowledge and willing to share his expertise. We always had a great time working together and having Field Office Cookouts. Zinn never met a stranger and neither did Phyllis so the conversations were on and long. I will miss you my buddy, I will miss you my friend but one day we will all be together with God!

Ronnie and I met at the beginning of first year at Weatherford Junior High and became immediate friends. We started a 3-piece rock band in 1960, which evolved into a five/six piece band call The Rumors. This band played parties and dances throughout our high school days. Concurrently during high school, we participated in rodeo bareback bronc and bull riding at a time when long hair, rock 'n roll and cowboy boots weren't universally accepted. Ronnie was always like a brother to me even though our lives took separate paths. He holds a special place in my heart. I extend my condolences to Ronnie's family and friends.

I’m so saddened to hear this. I loved working with him. He always kept me laughing in the office. Just recently I found the sweetest email he had written me in 2003 after I left TxDOT. I have not see him since I left, but I never forgot about him. So sorry for your loss Phyllis.

Ronnie Zinn was one of the 1st guys to be my friend when I 1st came to North Tarrant County AO. He always had a smile and a joke. He loved my Mexican food, Zinn and Oscar would take me to Esperanza's for mexican liver because it reminded me of home. He helped me move from the crazy house in Reno, in fact he was the one who found my hidden crockpot collection I had hidden from John (ok, 10 is a lot, but you never know what size your are going to need). He chased the crazy guys away from me at the office, and told John not to let me slip away when I was thinking of moving back to El Paso. One time, Zinn had really bad gout, so I went to Albertsons and bought them 5 pounds of cherries. Zinn, Choppo and Phillip Branch sat in their office and ate ALL those cherries. (Cherries are laxatives). It was an interesting afternoon to say the least! Zinn was sweet and kind, Vietnam gave him PTSD and rodeo broke his back, both gave him a lifetime of pain. We all lost touch when we retired, but "Zinner-dog" was never out of our hearts and when any of us got together, there were always Zinn stories. He is a legend! Our hearts are broken at his loss, he has brought us all back together again as we've been remembering him these last couple of days. We wish him the peace he couldn't find. He will always be in our hearts. We will miss him.

Phyllis, I’m so very sorry for your loss and the heartache that you and your family are suffering. Zinn and I go all the way back to 1970 working for what is now called TxDOT. I remember so many fun times and silly things we got into when we were young men. I will never forget him. I hope and pray that your heart will heal and this pain will ease off with time.
