Rose M. Singleton, 91, passed away quietly at The Cove at Waterview, Assisted Living on December 11, 2016. She was the widow of Virgil Singleton, Jim Loving and Henry Hoskins. She was also pre-deceased by her son, Mack Hoskins in October 2016. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Skiba of Chicopee, MA, grandchildren, Robert Skiba II of The Colony and Christina Kinman of Manassas, VA and great-grandchildren Alexa Kinman of Oceanside, CA and Jeremiah Skiba of The Colony. Rose was a faith filled, fun loving, adventurous, and creative person. She wrote poetry and short stories and enjoyed all manner of adventure: white water rafting on the Colorado River, snow skiing in Vermont, parasailing in Mexico, and even sky diving at the age of 73. Her favorite activity was motorcycle riding which she began with her first husband Henry and continued into her 80’s. Not one to avoid a challenge or new experience she was an excellent pistol shot. After having had to shoot rattlesnakes during her time raising sheep, it was a novelty to engage in a rattlesnake race. Rose and Henry Hoskins lived in many communities in Texas until he passed in 1983. She settled in Granbury with her last husband Virgil Singleton. After he passed, Rose lived with her son Mack in Granbury and later in Massachusetts with her daughter Carolyn. In 2015 she took residence at The Cove and lived peacefully there until her death.
