A woman of unwavering faith she loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Worth since 1945 and taught in the primary department for many years. Her face would light up when there were children near her. She loved the scriptures and referenced them, daily, in the journals she wrote and the conversations she had.
Ronita lived and raised her family in Lake Worth, at the same home for 75 years. Gardening, making cards with pressed flowers was a favorite pastime and her blue bonnets were outstanding. Friends and Family were always welcome, and she was an excellent listener and would offer sound advice when asked. Most of all she was a sweet soul with a loving heart and her passing will leave a void to all those who loved and cherished her.
Ronita was preceded in death by her husband, Noah, in 1982; brothers, Harold and Arnold; sister, Etta and grandson, David Jr.
She is survived by sisters, Mabel and Dora; brother, Jimmy; and her children, Frances Payne of Fort Worth, Joe Hokett of Heber, Utah and David Hokett of Buena Vista, Colorado; granddaughters, Cindy Brown, Lisa Tullbane, Sherry Greenwell; eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and special friend Patty Swift.
