Roy O. Parten, 86, an Azle resident passed away Sept. 30, 2015 at his home.
Service: 2:30 p.m. Friday at Ash Creek Baptist Church, Azle.
Committal: 1 p.m. Saturday at West Park Cemetery, Hereford.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Roy was born February 21, 1929 in Marshall to his parents, Roy O. Parten, Sr., and Willie Mae Durrett Parten. He was a life-long member of the Southern Baptist Church, whether here in Texas, or in Montana where his children were born. He was an argonomist with the Holly Sugar Company until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Irma Libbie Fay and Billie Lacewell Vaughn Parten; a daughter, Libbie Rae Rhyne; and a stepdaughter, Shelly Cleveland.
He is survived by: his Wife, Peggy Parten; brother, William Parten of Killeen; daughter, Cynthia Mae Gray and husband, Scott of Texas; sons, Rob Roy Parten and wife, LuAnn Cooper of N.M., Roland Bruce Parten and wife, Edith of Alabama; stepchildren, Connie Gragg and husband, Ted of S.C., Vicki Vanagas and husband, Tony, Nancy Smith and husband, James, Gary McManamy and wife, Glenda, Charles McManamy and wife, Lavonda, Travis Hopkins and wife, Geneva, Sally Reynolds and husband, Travis, all of Texas; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
