I knew Rupert from high school at Rocky Mount Senior High. He was a good person. I hope is that he has found peace and is sitting at the right hand of the Lord. Myra and family I hope You have peace and God’s Grace during this sad time. As in Psalms it says that God draws near to the crushed in spirit. May His Grace help you now. Sincerely, Debbie Wall Sharp

What honor to call Rupert Harrell a friend. I had the honor of being in Bible school with Rupert. Just a few years after I graduated, I assumed the pastorate of a wonderful church in Valley Center, Kansas. I followed Rupert and Myra and our connection became stronger during those days. I then rejoiced as Rupert pivoted again into a ministry that was built around all that his life experience had brought to him. He truly lived for God, sincerely loved his family, and openly shared his life with every person who came his way. Every phone call with him was so inspiring and every communication that he sent out focused on the God he loved and those he served. I am honored to be Rupert’s friend, one of the many I know … but I am so glad that I was among that number. Only heaven can accurately measure the impact of his life but I am absolutely certain that his reward will be great. I loved him and I know that he loved me as well! Praying now for all the family and friends!

Rupert was a distant cousin to me and I’m not even really sure how or where we fit in that family tree but I do know he loved his family no matter the distance between us physically or how far down that family tree we were. He showed much interest in keeping a connection between us all as the elders in our family moved on to heaven. I will always be grateful for his shoulder to lean on and his listening ears when my Mom and then my brother passed. His last trip to NC he made it a point to come to Wilson and have dinner with me. I got to meet some other family that I had never met. He was great at being a family man and most of all his love of country and pride he took in helping others was unmatched. We had planned that one day soon I would join him on a trip to Vietnam so he could show me where my Uncle was KIA He was so proud of my Uncle Butch and loved my grandmother something fierce. I can remember as a young girl and into my adult years Rupert being the glue that kept us all connected. He called me after he got out of the hospital after being soooo sick with pneumonia and he sounded good and was looking forward to being able to get out and on his motorcycle. I was shocked to hear of his passing. You will be missed greatly! Thank you for caring about me and our whole family. You were a special soul. Much love and prayers to his family! Hug everyone in heaven for me and kiss my Mama!

Uncle Rupert was a great uncle. I didn't get to see him much but I always knew he loved me and that he was a brave person. I heard his stories of when he served and I am absolutely astonished at what he went thru. I served in the Army and never did anything like him. I will miss my Uncle Rupert, but I know he is running around in heaven right now like a kid in his prime. No more pain and suffering only joy. I love you Uncle Rupert you will be missed.

Preacher had a heart as big as all out doors. He always made time to talk to his brothers no matter what time it was and Preacher was a fantastic listener who never judged nor forced anything on anyone. The Lord definitely took one of the good guys, I guess he felt Preacher had given enough of himself and brought him back home. Preacher will definitely be missed by myself and thousands of others. Rest In Peace brother you have definitely earned it. A true Ghost Rider.
