Ruth S. Bagby, 78, of Granbury, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018. Service: 2:30 PM, Monday, May 7, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury with the Reverend Dr. Suzi Robertson officiating, Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park, Visitation: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 6, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Ruth was born on March 4, 1940 in Clarksville, Tennessee to Elliott and Mary Shelby. She married Kyle Wayne Bagby on July 21, 1962 in Abilene, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruth received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of North Texas. She was a teacher for over 30 years at Granbury I.S.D. She was a very involved and active band supporter, who enjoyed attending marching competitions for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed antiquing and travelling; with Santa Fe and cruises being among her favorites. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, which she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband Kyle W. Bagby and her son: Kevin Bagby.
Ruth is survived by her daughter: Amy Bagby Birdett and husband Darrell, daughter-in-law: Trisha Neighbors Bagby, grandchildren: Nicholas Birdett, Andrew Birdett, Cameron Bagby and Caitlin Bagby, brother: William Shelby, sister: Margie Henning, and many other extended family members and friends, including Paul Clark, Duncan McMahan, Melinda Ray, Debbie Geye, Pat Butera, Michael Butera, Janice Butera, Gia Butera, Frank and Patsy Holodnak, Heath and Denise Holodnak, Sid and Darlene Birdett, Gary and Ashley Birdett, Michael and Shawn Birdett, Billy and Mendy Neighbors, Kerry and Katrina Shankles, Monte, Milton and Kim Murphy, and Tony and Marla Sledge.
