Ruth Blakely, 81, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Service: 3:00 PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Glen Rose, Interment: Rock Creek Cemetery, Visitation: 2:00 PM -3:00 PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Glen Rose.
Ruth was born on February 6, 1938 in Glen Rose, Texas to Walter and Juanita Cheek. She married Carl Blakely, Jr. on August 3, 1976 in Brownwood, Texas. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter, Ruth Ann Camp. She liked staying busy and grew up on the farm. She worked at the processing plant in Meridian for many years. She also took care of the Creation Evidence Museum by mowing and taking care of the property. She loved everything outdoors especially animals and fishing. She also enjoyed dancing.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Blakely, Jr., parents: Walter and Juanita Cheek, uncle: William Cheek, aunt: Bertha Cheek, and two brothers: Robert Cheek and William Cheek.
Ruth is survived by her daughter: Ruth Ann Camp, half-sisters: Betty Barnett and husband Maurice, Darlene Holder and husband Mike, Ann Hopkins and husband Jerry, and Katherine Carr, half-brothers: Ernest Cheek and wife Loretta, and Rex Cheek and wife Linda, numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and special friend: Geneva Morris.
