Sam W. White was born on September 25, 1921 in Nemo, Texas to Sam and Ruby White. Sam served in the U. S. Army. He was a farmer and a rancher. He was past president of the Somervell County Jr. Livestock Association. Sam was very active in the community. He was a lifelong member of New Prospect Baptist Church and the church treasurer for over 40 years. He was a recipient of the Tiger’s Eye Award, and active in the Glen Rose Exes Association. Sam was a board member for the Soil Conservation Service and the Georges Creek Cemetery. He was preceded in death by mother, Ruby White, father, Sam White, wife, Margaret White, and infant son, James Randall White.
Sam is survived by daughter: Sammye McPherson and husband Wendell, son: Robert White and wife, Melba, grandchildren: Dee Karr and husband, Kwen, Angie Brunett and husband, Brad, Cindy Whitehead and husband Brandon, Jeremy White and wife Misti, Joey White and wife Lisa, and Jacki Darouse and husband Miles, 16 great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter.
