Samuel “Pa” Ellis Burke

Samuel “Pa” Ellis Burke went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, while in the arms of his loving wife, Sherry Burke.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Biggers Funeral Chapel, 6100 Azle Ave. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Samuel Burke was born in Amarillo on April 8, 1942. He was the oldest child of Billie and Samuel Burke Sr. Samuel inspired many during his early days as a Texas radio host and later days as a USPS mail courier. He met the love of his life in 1976 and married her in 1989. He was a devoted husband, a loving and caring father and grandfather, and an avid Pink Floyd fan.

His parents, Billie and Samuel Burke Sr., along with his brother, Allen Burke, and father-in-law, T.C. Barlow, welcomed him into heaven.

Samuel “Pa” Burke leaves behind his wife, Sherry Burke; brother, David Burke; kids, Karla Reagan, Thomas Reagan, Ernest Reagan, Cory Burke, Kim Reese, Chad Burke and Kris Burke; his grandchildren, Tyson, Amber, Blake, Morgan, Makayla, Ernest, Brooke, Madeline, Nathan, Daylon, Jacob and Nicholas; and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many friends and other family members.
